Claire's Blog via Loconte

Hey everyone! Is it not exciting getting back into the flow of school routine after our last spring break of our lives?
Anyway, just a reminder for you guys to look into your chosen topic of propaganda and be ready to share briefly on what you have researched. Also, read up to the next set of response questions which is a page range from 105-115 (Don't worry, a lot of pages are pictures and articles that I'm sure you would read on your own, but may or may not be optional...) Also, just a heads up that the essay is due in a couple weeks so I would recommend looking over the different topics that are of interest to you and starting to gather some thoughts in regards to your topic. That is all.

Thanks,
Claire Dresselhuis

The Last Stretch

I should have blogged yesterday but sadly (very sadly) my internet was being very on and off.

This is the last bit of History 12 homework before spring break/peak week! Let's do our best, though I'm sure Mrs. Loconte will have lots of lovely take-home assignments for us during the 3 weeks off.
Tomorrow is the chapter test! Make sure to:

  • Go over the notes and handouts
  • Complete the 'Review Key Terms and Definitions' handout
  • Fully answer the Focus Questions
And did you know that the man who set up the Nobel Peace Prize was the same man who invented dynamite?

Stalin and Lenin and Russia, OH MY!

So, today we had a current events quiz, followed by a wonderful presentation of Stalin and a debate on why murder is wrong. Then a quick look at Lenin, which will be continued tomorrow.

Your homework tonight, should you choose to accept it (which you really should, i mean, GPA and stuff) is the first page of the "Alternative Activity Sheet" comparing and contrasting Mussolini and Hitler.

And because Mrs Loconte said something about a random fact on every post, here's one: 0.3% of all road accidents in Canada involve a moose.
